Kafie 1901 Don Fernando(D.F.) Maduro
The cigar was created to commemorate the life and legacy of Don Fernando Kafie, the later father of Dr. Gaby Kafie. The life of my father was bold, full of character, flavorful, and exciting. In his 3 children he leaves behing a legacy that is a reflection of the hard work and sacrifices he made to make sure the next generation succeeds. With that said, this cigar was built using tobaccos that would be a reflection of the life of Don Fernando. The cigar is wrapped with a Nicaraguan Habano maduro that is full of character, and filled with tobaccos that balance out the boldness with rich flavors and strength. The highlight of this blend is the rare Dominican Andullo tobacco which is found in the filler. This smoking experience is a journey like no other. Enjoy.

Since 2014 this blend has beeen one of our best selling cigar lines, surpassing any other dark wrapped cigar in our portolio. This blend is true to a high quality well balanced and flavorful connecticut cigar. We are using the finest wrapper leaf from Ecuador, with exquisite filler tobaccos from highly sought after regions in the Dominican Republic. The cigar features a mild spice on the front of the palatte with notes of cream, cinammon, and vanilla to accent the experience. A wonderful cigar any time of day, specially when paired with a cup of coffee or a morning tea. The retrohale is truly a magical experience with this blend as it is mildly sharp, delivering a great aroma and flavor notes. In 2015 The Kafie 1901 Sumatra blend came to life out of Honduras at Tabacalera G. Kafie y Cia. Today, this blend has been recreated and reblended using more refined and 4-5 year aged tobaccos. The artistans at La Aurora Cigar Factory under the guidance of Master Blender Manuel Inoa have assembled a more refined version of the original Sumatra Blend created by Kafie. Experience a pleasant smoke taste in which creamy wooden, sweet, and spicy notes are evident, along with notes of nuts and citric fruits that linger throughout the entire smoke. This blend was nominated Best Cigar Honduras by Cigar Journal Magazine in 2019. Since moving production to La Aurora we have strived to improve every aspect of this blend. The final result we are sure you will realy enjoy.

The missing tobacco from the entire blend was an exquisite Habano Natural wrapper. It tooks years to be able to develop this blend. It only came to life at La Aurora Cigars factory, with the help of Master Blender Manuel Inoa. Together Dr. Kafie and Mr. Inoa were able to create a delicious and memorable cigar that will now be a permanent line in the Kafie 1901 Portfolio. The blend is well balance, with enough strenght to keep you enjoying the complex transitions from beginning to end.
